Oscar W. Anderson, 88, died on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Golden Living Care Center in Moorhead, MN. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Barnesville, MN with Rev. Colin Grangaard officiating. Burial will follow in the City Cemetery, Barnesville, MN. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Friday, April 19, 2013 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday. Oscar Waldemar Anderson was born on October 9, 1924 to Adolph and Petra (Egge) Anderson in Tansem Township, Clay County. He grew up southeast of Rollag in Tansem Township. He attended country school through the 8th grade. He worked on the family farm. Oscar was united in marriage to Elenor Pearl Hanson on February 6, 1954 at Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay. The couple made their home near Rollag where they farmed until 1957 when they moved to Barnesville. While in Barnesville, Oscar owned and operated Anderson Auto Wrecking on the south end of Barnesville for many years. He worked for the Clay County Fair and as a mechanic for the Barnesville Bus Company for many years. Oscar was a hard worker. He enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his Norwegian brogue. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, cutting and selling fire wood. He lived in the Golden Manor Assisted Living in Barnesville for the past 8 years. In his later years he enjoyed puzzles. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Barnesville Fire Department for 20 year, retiring in 1983. He is survived by three children: Betty (David) Hageman of Goodland, KS, Larry (Debra) of Eugene, OR, and Gary (Tamika Davis) of Moorhead, MN; six grandsons: Brady (Meagan Klemish) Anderson, Lee (Lisa) Hageman, Dylan (Tehnee Ridder) Hageman, Brian (Leolou Coloma) Anderson, Daniel (Marley)Anderson, and Larenzo Davis, four great grandchildren, one brother Adolph Anderson Jr. of Felton, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife Elenor in 1995, son Steve in 2006, his parents, 9 sisters and 5 brothers: Ardis, Clara, Alma, Emma, Hilda, Jeanette, Olga, Bertha, and Ruby, Ole, Albert, Carl, Elmer, and John. : Clara, Alma, Emma, Hilda ORGANIST: Shelly Holmstrom SOLOIST: Duane Rossett SELECTIONS: What A Friend We Have In Jesus, In The Garden CONGREGATIONAL HYMNS: Amazing Grace, Rock of Ages PALLBEARERS: Roy Bekkerus, Jeff Anderson, Mike Anderson, Richard Aakre, Blaine Brandon, Gary Skunberg HONORARY PALLBEARERS: The Barnesville Fire Department
