Carl E Sillerud

Carl E. Sillerud, 87, a resident of Barnesville, Minnesota, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, at Clayco Care Center in Barnesville, Minnesota. Carl was born September 11, 1924, in Prairie View Township, Wilkin County, Minnesota, to Oliver and Clara (Pederson) Sillerud. Carl attended Country School District 19. He was raised and farmed with his father in Prairie View Township until he bought the home farm. On March 14, 1975, Carl was united in marriage to Lillian Pederson in Rothsay. The couple made their home and continued to farm in Prairie View Township until they moved into Barnesville in 1997. Lillian died in May 2009. Carl was a life-time member of Little Bethany Lutheran Church rural Barnesville. Carl is survived by his three brothers: Glen (Verda) Sillerud, Glasgow, Montana; Kenneth Sillerud, Fergus Falls, MN; Arlen (Joanne) Sillerud, Ada, MN; sister-in-law, Gerri Seefeldt, Barnesville, MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; parents; 3 sisters and brother-in-laws Orpha and Arthur Larson, Ardis and Walter Halbakken, Lorraine and Adolph Brusven, 1 brother and sister-in-law Palmer and LaVerne Sillerud. Service: Monday, March 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Little Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Barnesville, Minnesota with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
