Linda Christen

Linda Christen, 51, of Moorhead, formerly of Barnesville, MN died at her residence in Moorhead under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4000 28th Street S. in Moorhead, MN. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Wednesday. Linda was born on December 22, 1961 in Fargo, ND to Waldemar and Eunice (Brand) Christen. She was raised in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Barnesville on April 25, 1976.Linda attended school in Barnesville and graduated on May 23, 1980. Linda was a very dedicated worker and had been employed at Hardees, Holland Cleaners, and Eventide Nursing Home, all in Moorhead, until health related issues prevented her from further work.An avid Elvis fan, Linda cherished her many collected treasures. She loved to travel and went on many trips with family, including a trip to Graceland with many special memories.Linda leaves behind her mother, Eunice Christen, sister Janice Christensen, both of Barnesville, MN, and sister Lois (Don) Bristol, of Fargo, ND; special friend, Kelly Laney, of Moorhead; nieces Traci (Ben) Lofgren, Christopher and Kenna, of Hawley, MN, Amanda Christensen, Bryce and Justin Krueger, all of Barnesville.She is preceded in Heaven by her father, Waldemar Christen, grandparents, Otto and Amanda Brand, Elfrieda Christen, Martin Christen Sr. and brother-in-law, Marshall Christensen.A very special thank-you to all of the caregivers from Connections of Moorhead for all the care, love and comfort given to Linda and her family.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley, 1701 38th St. S., Fargo, ND 58103, or Connections of Moorhead, 810 4th Ave. S., Moorhead, MN 56560.
