Bernard Kieselbach

Bernard G. Kieselbach, age 70, of Barnesville, Minnesota died Monday, August 6, 2012 at his home in Barnesville with his family at his side. Bernard and his twin brother, Benedict, were born on November 10, 1941 to Sylvester G. and Albertina (Gerbing) Kieselbach. Bernard attended Assumption Grade School through the eighth grade, Barnesville High School through the eleventh grade, and graduated from St. Johns Preparatory School in Collegeville, Minnesota. After graduating from high school, Bernard enlisted in the US Air Force, serving in the intelligence service (USAFSS) at stations in Texas and Germany. After his discharge from the Air Force in 1963, Bernard worked for a year at St. Ansgar Hospital prior to enrolling in Moorhead State University. Upon his graduation from MSU in 1969, with a double major in Business Administration and Accounting, Bernard worked briefly for a CPA firm in Fargo, North Dakota, as well as at North Dakota Blue Cross where he served as Medicare Audit Supervisor for the state of North Dakota. In 1974, he joined the staff of St. Lukes Hospital, (Meritcare Health System), where he served as Business Manager for 32 years, retiring in 2006. Bernard married Kay Marie Richardson of Moorhead, Minnesota on September 27, 1969 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Moorhead. Upon his retirement, Bernard and Kay moved back to Barnesville where he was an active member of Assumption Catholic Church. Bernard was a loving father, husband, and grandfather, who enjoyed time spent with family, his precious grandsons, and good friends. Bernard is survived by his wife, Kay, of Barnesville, Minnesota; son, Brian (Dawn) of Barnesville, Minnesota; daughters, Kelly of Fargo, North Dakota and Ann (Corey) Johnson of Argusville, North Dakota; grandsons, Zachary, Tristin and Isaac Johnson of Argusville, North Dakota; sisters, Betty (Robert) Ishaug of Barnesville, Minnesota and Marie (Merle) Baumgartner of Valley City, North Dakota; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kieselbach of Park Rapids, Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Benedict; sister, Agnes and older brother, Raymond. Memorial Mass: 11:00 am, Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville, Minnesota. Visitation: Will be held on Friday at the Dobmeier Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service and will resume one hour prior to services in the church. Interment: St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Barnesville, Minnesota The Dobmeier Funeral Home of Barnesville is assisting the family with arrangements.
