Muriel Leach

Muriel Kay Leach was born on October 8, 1956 in Moorhead, Minnesota, the daughter of Eugene & Doris (Vannet) Swenson. She graduated from Barnesville High School, and attended Moorhead Tech School. On August 29, 1975, Muriel married David Leach at the Baker Westminster Presbyterian Church. They made their home in rural Glyndon. Muriel was employed by Hospice of the Red River Valley of Fargo. On October 20, 2012, Muriel peacefully died at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, after a courageous battle with lung cancer at the age of 56. Muriel was a believer in Jesus and one cannot lose the battle with cancer if you are a believer. She is more alive than ever with the Lord right now. During her illness, family and friends gave her support, care, love, and so much kindness. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, David; her children, James Leach and Kristin (Mike) Pennie; her mother, Doris (Vannet/Swenson) Ludemann; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Deb Swenson; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Jim McShane; Cousins which were like brothers, Vernell and Avis Weiss and James and Deb Vannet. Muriel was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Swenson; sister, Jody Swenson; grandparents, James and Martha (Manston) Vannet, and Oscar and Clara Swenson. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sanford Palliative Care for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley in Fargo. Visitation: Will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church in Fargo. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo. Burial: Barnesville City Cemetery, Barnesville.
