Marilyn Stephenson

August 2, 1928 — February 10, 2013

Marilyn Stephenson, 84, died on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at ClayCo Care Center in Barnesville, MN. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at North Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Pelican Rapids, MN with Rev. Curt Tilleraas officiating. Burial will be in the spring at North Immanuel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Friday, February 15, 2013 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday. Marilyn Clarice Stephenson was born on August 2, 1928 at home on the farm east of Barnesville to Melvin and Cora Amanda (Dahlen) Stephenson. She attended country school district 12 and grew to womanhood near Barnesville. She lived at home on the family farm for the most of her life. She helped raise her siblings and would help neighbors out with housework when help was needed. She moved to Pelican Rapids in 1985 and lived with her mom. She moved into the Mill Pond Apartments in the early 90s where she lived for a few years. In the last few years, she has resided in the Good Sam Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids and at ClayCo Nursing Home in Barnesville. She loved a good cup of coffee and visiting with friends. She also enjoyed baking. She was a lifetime member of North Immanuel Church. Marilyn is survived by six siblings: Darlene (Ernest) Hovland of Pelican Rapids, MN, Janice (Lloyd) Alm of Hawley, Arlys Engen of Hawley, MN, Orland (Nettie) Stephenson of Moorhead, Sharon Cook of Fargo, and JoAnn (Bruce) Emerson of Baker, MN, 14 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Cora, one nephew Steve Cook, brothers in law Orrin Engen and Duane Cook.
