Rick Getz

Rick Getz, 60, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Essentia Hospital, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Barnesville, MN with Pastor Colin Grangaard officiating. Burial will follow in Moorhead Memorial Gardens in Moorhead. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Dobmeier Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Rick Don Getz was born on September 9, 1953 to Donald and Barbara (Berglund) Getz in Wichita Falls, TX. Rick grew up in Barnesville and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1971. He attended Moorhead Technical College. He worked as shop foreman at Getz Chevrolet of Barnesville from 1971 to 1988. He later worked construction for Aggregate and Turner Sand and Gravel. Rick's favorite time was riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed his dogs Rupert and Harley. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed spending time with his fiancée Char Eiman. Rick is survived by his father Don Getz, Detroit Lakes, MN, sister Julie (Tom Barten) Kassick, Bloomington, MN, niece Megan Kassick, Boston, MA, nephew Brandon Kassick, Bloomington, MN, and fiancée Char Eiman, Barnesville, MN. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Getz, grandparents, Leonard and Ann Getz, Alfred and Blanche Berglund.
