Carol Schindler

Carol Schindler, 60, died peacefully in her home in Barnesville, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, October 20, 2014 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday. Carol Elaine Nelson was born on December 7, 1953 to Carlton and Elnora (Stigen) Nelson in Fergus Falls, MN. She spent the first eight years in Elbow Lake, before moving to Fergus Falls. In 1971, she graduated from Fergus Falls High School. She met Curtis Schindler and they were married on Oct 22, 1977. Their son Curtis was born in 1979. They have made their home in Barnesville for many years. Carol worked in many places around Barnesville including Sis and Mars Café, the Wagon Wheel, Standard Gas Station, SuperValu Grocery Store, VFW Barnesville, and the VFW in Moorhead. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and watching her favorite soap opera "The Young and the rest of us" as she jokingly called it. Carol is survived by her husband Curt, of Barnesville, one son Curt, of Richardton, ND, one sister Cheryl (Ken) Klipfel of Fergus Falls, four brothers: Lee (Connie) Nelson of Cross Lake, MN, Charles Nelson of Barnesville, Chris Nelson of Barnesville, Curt Nelson of Erhard, MN, , father and mother in law: Ray and Marlys Schindler of Barnesville. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Bill Nelson.
