Kristie Czichotzki,59, of Fargo, ND died on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo with her loving family at her side. Memorial services will be 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville with Rev. Chris Leach officiating. Burial will follow in City Cemetery, Barnesville. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the memorial service on Wednesday. Kristie Kaye Czichotzki was born on February 28, 1956 to Odien Edward and Arlene Mae (Olson) Czichotzki in Breckenridge, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Mitchell Township and raised on the family farm southwest of Barnesville. She attended school in Barnesville and graduated in 1974. She attended the University of Minnesota at Crookston from 1974-1976 with a degree in home and family services. Then Interstate Business College from 1978-1980, and MSUM in Moorhead from 1988-1992 earning a triple degree in criminal justice, anthropology, and sociology. During the years when Kristie was working, she worked in numerous jobs caring for the elderly in nursing homes, working with families with young children, and at group homes for disabled people. She had several hobbies and talents. She loved to knit and has made many afghans. She also enjoyed embroidery and counted cross stich. She was blessed with a green thumb. She had a love for all pets, especially cats. Baking rolls, breads, and coffeecake was a favorite pastime. Also during her spare time she liked to do puzzles and read. Kristie is survived by her parents Odien and Arlene Czichotzki of Barnesville, sister Deborah (David) Johnson of Lake Park, MN, brother Terry (Sandra) Czichotzki of Barnesville, MN; nieces and nephews Jared (Debbie) Johnson, West Fargo, ND, Marla (Jason) DeFoe, Thompson, ND, Alexander Czichotzki, Barnesville, MN, Austin Czichotzki, Minneapolis, MN, great nieces and nephews Megan Johnson, Kendal DeFoe, Taylor Johnson, Dominic DeFoe. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert & Irene Olson, Arlo and Marion Czichotzki.
