Dale Scholtes, 63, of Dilworth, MN died on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his home. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with Pastor Chris Leach officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Saturday. Dale Marvin Scholtes was born on July 23, 1952 to Marvin Theodore and Joan Ann (Krier) Scholtes in St. Cloud, MN. He grew up in St. Cloud and attended grade school at St. Anthony’s Catholic School and graduated from Apollo High School in 1971. In his earlier years, he was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad out of Dilworth, MN. Later he started a bait shop known as D&H Bait on Highway 10 east of Dilworth and has supplied bait and hunting supplies to outdoor enthusiasts over the years. At D&H Bait he enjoyed many special friends and customers. While growing up, Dale was active in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed playing hockey. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved archery and bow hunting for deer. He also enjoyed playing pool. He is survived by his father Marvin, St. Cloud, MN, four siblings: Clifford (Linda) Scholtes, St. Cloud, Harry (Sherry) Scholtes, Sartell, MN, Vanessa (Mark) Koempel, Burnsville, MN, Janet (Mike) Toenjes, St. Cloud, several nieces & nephews, and many special friends. Dale was preceded in death by his mother Joan Scholtes.
