Vaughn Bergseid

Vaughn Bergseid, 76, of Sabin, MN died on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at her home under the care of hospice.  Vaughn Anderson was born on July 6, 1939 to Elmer and Clara (Johnson Langseth) Anderson in Tansem Township, rural Clay County, MN.  She attended school in Barnesville and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1957.  She attended a business college in Moorhead.  On October 19, 1957, she was united in marriage to George Bergseid in Rollag, MN.In her younger years she worked candling eggs; as a teller at First National Bank Moorhead; and in the Minnesota Potato Inspection Office, before beginning a 46 year career in insurance.  Vaughn specialized in the crop and hail insurance and has owned Bergseid Insurance in Moorhead since 1982.  She loved her family, friends, and her grandpups.  Traveling across the US by motorhome every year was a favorite pastime for the family.  She loved historic sites and teaching US History along the way.  She was lucky to travel to 43 US States.  She enjoyed camping at Meadow Lake and Park Rapids, MN.  She had a love for gardening and flowers, and feeding the birds and wildlife.  For many years, she baked Scandinavian goodies for the Bank at Christmas including sandbakelse, rosettes, spritz, fattigman, and krumkaka.  She would bake and decorate elaborate cakes.  Vaughn could solve problems, no matter how big and always fought for what was right. Vaughn is survived by two daughters: Cindy Bergseid and Mary Bergseid, Moorhead, MN; two brothers Wallace (Ilene) Anderson, Grand Rapids; Virgil (Bobby) Anderson, Cormorant Lake; sister-in-law Jackie Anderson, Moorhead; several nieces and nephews; and her godson Chris John Bergseid.Vaughn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband George; and a brother, Donald Anderson. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM, Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Dobmeier Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.  Vaughn Bergseid Memorial Folder
