Kathleen Ernst

Kathleen Ernst, 66, formerly of Barnesville and Moorhead, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at Hawley Assisted Living, Hawley, MN. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 2 p.m. at St. James United Church of Christ with Pastor Darrel Saathoff officiating. There will be visitation 1 hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at City Cemetery, Barnesville, MN. Kathleen LaRue Ernst was born on January 11, 1950 in Moorhead, MN to Louis and Harriet (Egge) Ernst. She was confirmed at St. James United Church of Christ. Kathleen graduated from Barnesville High School in 1968. She moved to Minneapolis, MN shortly after graduation and started a career in the secretarial field. After leaving Minneapolis she lived in Barnesville for a short time, then moved to Moorhead, MN where she lived most of her life. She lived at the Hawley Assisted Living for a short time before her death. Kathleen lived a simple life, enjoying her family. She was an accomplished pianist and organist, enjoying classical music. She loved to write, anything from poetry to letters to family and friends. Kathleen also loved to draw. Kathleen is survived by her son Anthony (Kristin) Ernst Sr of Ashley, ND; 4 grandchildren: Elizabeth Ernst; Anthony Ernst Jr; Kari Ernst; and Jenny Ernst. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Donna) Ernst of Barnesville; and Bette Gleason of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
