Larry Brian Ray

Larry B. Ray, 81, died on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Valley Care & Rehabilitation in Barnesville, MN.       An open house honoring Larry will be 1:00 PM, Sunday, April 30th at the Carriage House, 3412 Village Green Blvd, Moorhead, MN.  Larry Brian Ray was born to Edward & Willette (DeVreis) Ray on March 31, 1936 in Shelby, Michigan. He attended school and graduated from Shelby High School in 1954. Larry attended college in Big Rapids, Michigan. At the age of 20 he became an owner/operator, driving a semi-truck. He drove for 56 years as a long hall truck driver; going from the west coast to the east coast of Canada. Larry also served in the National Guard for 7 years. In 1961, Larry married Nicola Wagner. Together they had 2 sons: Larry Anton Ray and Brian Ross Ray in Hart, Michigan. In 1992, he married Anita Schaefer who had 2 children: Cynthia See and Jeffery Schaefer. Larry was a member of the O.O.I.D.A., the N.R.A. and the Shelby Baptist Church. Larry loved to hunt and enjoyed outdoor life. He also loved older cars and dogs, and to make people laugh! Larry is survived by his wife Anita; his children: Jeffrey (RoseAnn) Schaefer of Allegan, Michigan; Brian (Cathy) Ray of New Era, Michigan; Cynthia See of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota and 12 grandchildren.
