It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carol L. Flieth, 64, beloved partner, cousin and friend, who left this world on May 8, 2026, at Valley Care & Rehab, Barnesville, MN. Born on June 16, 1961, in Fargo, ND, Carol touched the hearts of many throughout her life and will forever be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and creativity.

Carol devoted many years of her professional life to the Radisson Hotel in Fargo, where she nurtured countless relationships with guests and colleagues alike. More recently, she found joy working at the Goodwill retail store from 2024 until her health required her to retire. Carol adored being a caregiver for Mike’s daughter, Felicity, for two years, offering her boundless love and support.

In her personal life, Carol found joy in the companionship of Mike Holm, a love that blossomed from a friendship that began when they met 12 years ago. Their bond was evident in the everyday moments they shared, from taking walks and watching movies to barbecuing and visiting the casino. The couple's home was made even more vibrant by their four beloved cats: Toby, Romeo, Patches, and Missy, aka: Mischief, whose antics brought laughter and light into their days. Carol's gentle spirit and love for her furry companions were a constant source of happiness and comfort.

A creative soul, Carol enjoyed coloring, crafting, and painting on her phone. She found solace in connecting with family and friends on Facebook and delighted in sharing her favorite snacks while indulging in episodes of **CSI** or classic Disney movies.

Carol is survived her loving companion, Mike Holm, who showered her with care and affection until the very end; her cousin, Martha Linder, and numerous friends from over the years. Carol’s family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Mike for standing by Carol’s side, ensuring that she always felt loved, cherished, and cared for.

In a poignant turn of fate, Carol shared her final moments with her beloved cat, Toby, who passed away during a visit to Carol at the nursing home the day before she herself departed from this world, a testament to their unbreakable bond. We are comforted to know that he was there to greet her when she got to heaven’s gates.

Fly high, sweet Carol, (and dear Toby). You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in those who knew and loved you.
