Diane M. Scarr, 74, of West Fargo, North Dakota, passed away at her home on Monday, June 15, 2026. 

A private family burial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Sabin, Minnesota. A memorial service will be held at Fargo Seventh-day Adventist Church in Fargo, North Dakota, on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. All friends and family are welcome to attend.

Diane Margaret Scarr was born on November 7, 1951, in Fargo, North Dakota, to the late Lester and Matilda (Butenhoff) Possehl. She grew up in the Fargo area and devoted many years to caring for her family as a homemaker. Later, she worked at the Boise Public Library in Boise, Idaho, and subsequently at the Idaho State Library. After returning to Barnesville, Minnesota, to care for her mother, Diane worked as an auditor at a local hotel. She was a faithful and active member of Fargo Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Diane will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Carrie Scarr of Des Moines, Iowa; her son, Brian Scarr of Bandon, Oregon; her sisters, Marian Szymanski of Bismarck, North Dakota, and Darlene Samuelson of Kensington, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Matilda Possehl; and her sisters, Sharon Martinson and Jean L. Samuelson. 

Diane's kindness, devotion to her family, and steadfast faith will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished.
