Dorothy M. Holland

Dorothy M. Holland, 91, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Barnesville, MN, with Rev. Thomas Eaves officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery, Barnesville.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Friday, May 18, 2018 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday.

Dorothy Margaret Luckason was born on September 26, 1926 to Selmer and Veronica (Hunt) Luckason in Hawley, MN.  She grew to womanhood and attended school in Hawley.  On March 24, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harry Holland in Hawley.  In 1955, Dorothy and Harry started Holland Electric in Barnesville.  Dorothy was the bookkeeper for the business they operated for over 35 years. 

She was active in St. John’s Lutheran Church, including Sunday school, Ladies Aid, and cleaned the church.  She enjoyed her time with the birthday club and helped deliver meals on wheels.  Dorothy kept busy throughout her life raising her boys.  Dorothy will be remembered for keeping a perfect house and yard.  She had lived at Eventide on Eighth for the past couple years and received wonderful care.

Dorothy is survived by three sons: Randy (Eric Sullivan), Fort Lauderdale, FL; Ross, Dilworth, MN; and Ryan (Tara), Grand Forks, ND; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Holland; her parents; son and daughter-in-law Rick and Annamae Holland; daughter-in-law Suzanne Holland; great grandson Matthew Holland; brother, Tommy Luckason and two sisters: Bernice Wang and MayDelle Malme.
