Harold M. Quinnild

November 5, 1925 — August 13, 2018

Harold Quinnild, 92, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Comstock, MN died at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND on Monday, August 13, 2018. 

Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, August 17, 2018 at Comstock Lutheran Church in Comstock, MN with Rev. Jill Steichen officiating.  Burial will be in the Comstock Lutheran Cemetery, following lunch.  

Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 AM at the church on Friday. 

Harold Marvin Quinnild was born on November 5, 1925 to Henry and Dagney (Odegaard) in Fargo, ND.  He was baptized at North Pleasant Church in Hickson, ND and confirmed at Comstock Lutheran Church.    He grew up on a farm outside of Comstock, MN.  He attended school at the Comstock School.  He served his country in the US Army.  He returned home from the service and began farming with his father at the Quinnild Family Farm.  Harold farmed throughout his lifetime. 

On November 17, 1973, Harold was united in marriage to Angie Hough in Barnesville.  They made their home on the Quinnild Family Farm between Comstock and Moorhead for many years.  They lived in Fargo for 16 years and most recently, Harold lived at the Pioneer House in Fargo.  Harold has been a lifetime member of Comstock Lutheran Church. 

Harold enjoyed bowling, card playing, fishing, and watched many Minnesota Twins baseball games. Also, some of his most cherished time was driving around looking at the crops and of course, his favorite color was John Deere.

He is survived by 3 step-children: Jeanne Waalen, Fargo, John (Marcia) Hough, Fargo and Charles Hough, Moorhead, MN; nephews, Paul (Carol) Quinnild, James (Stephanie) Quinnild and Dennis (Mona Nickley) Hoppe; nieces, Lois Williams and Joyce (Reece) Cottrel. Harold is also survived by 11 grandchildren:  Matthew Kuehl, Aaron (Susan Linhart) Kuehl, Chanda (Philipp) Scherer, Christopher (Wendy)  Waalen, Stacy (Mike) McWethy, Dustin (Sara) Hough, Paige (Dave) Benson, Quinn Hough, Michael Empting, Jacquie (Steve) Molstre and Mark Empting; 19 great grandchildren: Addie Kuehl, Maeva Kuehl, Dahlia Larson, Livia Scherer, Sasha Scherer, Rylie Nowacki, Quinn Nowack, Erin Nowacki, Elijah Hough, Isabella DiGianni, Ruby Hough, Sam Benson, Vivienne Benson, Katelyn Empting, Michael Empting, McKinzie (Patrick Sorum) Molstre, Keasha Molstre, Kayla Molstre and Joseph Molstre; one sister, Darlene Hoppe; and nephew Roger Lee and many other nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.  
 
Preceding Harold in death are his wife Angelina, on December 3, 2016; step-daughter, Carol Kuehl; his parents; brother and sister-in-law Vern (Pearl) Quinnild; and sister and brother-in-law Vivian (Frank) Hoppe; brothers-in-law, LeRoy “Bud” Ladehoff and Leslie “Bud” Hoppe; and 2 nieces, Margaret Lee and Betty Hoppe. 
 
Harold’s family would like to express a special thanks to Pioneer House of Fargo and the Fargo VA for their wonderful care.
