Jeri Dawn Bernu

March 17, 1956 — August 7, 2019

Jeri-Dawn Bernu was born on March 17, 1956 to Merv and Dorla (Hendrickson) Bernu in Minneapolis, MN. She was raised in the Duluth area, settling in Fargo. Jeri-Dawn graduated from Moorhead High School in 1974. She graduated from Moorhead Technical School in Business. Bob and JD met in 1983 when she worked for his brother, Dennis. As an instrumental partner, she was a good part of the footing of the Great Plains Transport. Jeri-Dawn loved animals, especially dogs, gardening, canning, crocheting and cooking. Her favorite place was at their home on Big Pine Lake. Jeri-Dawn had an infectious laugh. Her spirit was filled with compassion and giving. She could be trusted to help a friend or family member in their time of need. She will be forever missed and forever remembered.

She is survived by her lifetime love of 36 years Bob Holland, Fargo, ND; Bob’s children: Jennifer Holland Cook, Matthew (Katie) Holland and Michael (Ginae) Holland; grandchildren: Jonas and Nolan Cook, Charlotte Holland and Hudson and Adlyn Holland; four sisters: Mona-Marie (Bob) Leslie, Moorhead, MN, Yvette (Jay) Krzyzaniak, Willmar, MN, Adair (Bill) Grommesh, Moorhead, MN and Alene (Jaime) Chelman, Cokato, MN; nieces and nephews: Matthew (Becky) Munson, Trevor Munson, Peighton and Garrett Grommesh, Claire, Jac, and Laina Chelman, and great niece and nephew, Tenley and Anders Munson, and several brother and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merv and Dorla Bernu.

In lieu of flowers, memorial are preferred to a food shelf.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, August 12, 2019 at St. James United Church of Christ with Rev. Frank Picard officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery, Barnesville, MN.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Sunday, August 11, at Dobmeier Funeral and Cremation Service in Barnesville, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday.

Jeri-Dawn Bernu, 63, of Fargo, ND, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND of medical complications.
