Jarard “Jerry” Clare Mickish, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 7, 2024 in Fargo, ND at the age of 56. He was born on April 20, 1967 in San Mateo, CA to the late Joseph and Jean Mickish.
Jerry's family relocated to Barnesville when he was just six years old, where he would spend his formative years. He graduated from Barnesville High School in 1985, where he participated in Speech and Debate. After high school, Jerry attended college at Fergus Falls, MN, and also served in the U.S. Naval Reserves.
With a passion for technology, Jerry dedicated 25 years of his life to working in IT support at SEI, BNG and later at Sanford Fargo. He was known amongst his colleagues for his expertise and dedication to his work. Jerry valued the friendships he made with his co-workers and had deep regard for many of them.
Jerry enjoyed European style Formula 1 racing, which led to international travel and photography. His enjoyment for travel led him to embark on incredible journeys to destinations such as Africa, Iceland, the Middle East and Europe, where he captured unforgettable moments through his photography.
Those who knew Jerry will fondly remember his dry sense of humor and his passion for racing, photography and family/friends. He kept in touch with friends through his active presence on Facebook, where he shared his thoughts, experiences, and photos.
Jerry is survived by his brothers Joe Mickish and John (Julie) Mickish. He will also be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews, Tami Lucia, Heather Klein, Darby Mickish, Grace Mickish, Megan Grote, and Max Hanft.
May Jerry rest in eternal peace, knowing the impact he had on the lives of those around him.
Visitation and memory sharing time with the family will be 1:30- 3:30 on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN. Jerry will be laid to rest in City Cemetery, Barnesville in the spring.
