Margie JoAnn Raknerud

Margie Raknerud, 88, passed from this world into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, January 9, 2023 at Hope Lutheran Brethren Church with Pastor Kevin Skaret officiating.  Burial will follow in Little Bethany Cemetery, rural Barnesville, MN. 

Visitation will be from 5-8, at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, Sunday, January 8, 2023.  Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday. 

Margie JoAnn Aos was born on October 1, 1934 to Tony and Clara (Malingen) Aos at a midwife home in Barnesville, MN.  She attended country school in district 146 through 8^th grade and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1952.    Marge met Eldon Raknerud in 1953 and they were married on October 8, 1954.  They made their home on the Raknerud family farm for over 60 years.  They were blessed with four sons.  Marge enjoyed all of their school and church activities. 

Marge had a very strong Christian faith and was always willing to share her thoughts and prayers.  She was active in Ladies activities and bible study at her church.  She has been a longtime member of Hope Lutheran Brethren Church in Barnesville.  She liked to bake and cook and you never left her home hungry.  She also enjoyed sewing and gardening.  She taught her children the importance of family. 

She is survived by  3 sons: Doug (Rose) Raknerud, Hawley; Darrel (Deborah) Raknerud, Rochester, MN; Gary (Jen) Raknerud, Northwood, ND; eight grandchildren: Lauren (Brian) Parrett, Brian Raknerud, Natalie (Alec Schulze), Nicole (Neil) Raknerud, Luke Raknerud, Zach (Heather) Raknerud, Carter Raknerud, Daniel Raknerud, three great grandchildren:  Hudson Parrett, Ethan Parrett, Fynn Schulze,  sister Patty Swenson, Barnesville, MN; sister in law Muriel Jacobson, Omaha, NB; and many other family and friends. 

Margie was preceded in death by her husband Eldon in 2016, her son Keith in 2016; granddaughter Emily Raknerud; her parents; brother Roland Aos, and brothers-in-law Vern Swenson and Lin Jacobson.
